![]() ![]() The amps and cabinets in Amplitube Fender had to meet the same testing requirements for certification as a real modern Fender amp. In addition, the cabinet IRs that are in Hendrix are of vintage equipment as well. The amps in Jimi Hendrix are not identical to the ones in Amplitube Fender, because AT:Jimi Hendrix modeled specific amplifiers of the vintage used by Hendrix, and as you probably know parts standardization wasn't so great back then so amps would differ sometimes a great deal from one to another because of the different values of the parts used to make them. However, the ones in AT2 are strictly outclassed by a great magnitude in Amplitube Fender beyond any doubt. Please, read the review, listen to the clips, and if you have any comments, questions, or requests, post them and I'll do my best to get to them as quickly as I can.ĥ of the amps modeled in Fender have been modeled in one form or another in IK's previous programs. I didn't get to all of them, but that's why I'm asking for feedback now so that if I've missed a feature or something that someone really wants to hear, I can get it taken care of! The clips represent a cross-section of requests. Unfortunately, Will (my editor) is out of town right now so they aren't uploaded as part of the review, but in the mean-time I've got them hosted over at my blog: Amplitube Fender clips - I went around to a few forums, KVR, Guitar Amp Modeling, Harmony Central, etc., and asked them what they'd want to hear. I've been promising clips since the review was published a few days ago, but due to family and academic commitments I haven't been able to provide them until now. ![]() I'm sure that when I review Overloud's TH1 1.1 (a patch which many companies would make you pay for, it added so much content and features), planned as the flagship computer-related review for the next issue, I'll have a similarly extensive review - I just really like this stuff and getting to dig into it is a lot of fun for me! I would feel like I was short-changing the software if I only gave it a pedal's worth of space, there's just so much going on. It is quite long, longer than any other review I've written but I had a lot to say. I got to publish a review of it for the current issue of the magazine I am associated with, Welcome to - check it out if you want to read my thoughts on the subject. I feel for those of you who might have placed pre-orders under the premise that it'd be out at the end of February as they had originally hoped - but when it's out, I think it will be worth it. I do know that now it's down to really minor things, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long. IK tells me that the product should be out very soon, they're busting their butts getting everything in order for Fender so it's just a matter of when Fender is totally satisfied. ![]() Here's the scoop - I was lucky enough to get in on the very late beta of IK's Amplitube Fender, when they already had a basically finished product (right now, it is behind the scheduled release date because Fender is being very picky to get everything just right in the certification process - their right, of course, but it is holding things up). I posted a bit on this earlier in the "Good News" section, but it's fairly low-traffic and I'm looking for some feedback and also extending an offer to let you guys ask questions about the software, request clips, etc., so I felt it merited a new thread in a more specifically related locale! I know that this forum is interested in amp modeling (although of course it's a relatively controversial topic, some are more interested in bashing amp modeling than in the topic itself ), and currently there are no recent modeling threads so rather than drudge an only tangentially related one up out of the depths of Music Computers, I figured I'd just post a new one specifically for the topic. ![]()
